No Hurdles Here

The community of First Baptist is a fellowship that exists to Gather-Grow-Go. We carry out this mission through a variety of ministries aimed at serving others in our community, our state, our nation and our world. Our concern is not so much for numbers as it is to see souls saved, lives changed and families strengthened. If you are searching for a place to grow in your relationship with Jesus or wanting to be a part of a church body that has a heart for impacting our world with the Gospel, we invite you to come and visit with us.

Visiting a new church can involve a lot of uncertainty, but hopefully the information provided here will alleviate any worries and make sure you can focus on Christ rather than finding your way around.

Previous sermons are online.  While we offer live streaming of our services on Facebook and on our website viewer, neither compare to being here.  You can check us out online, but we would love to get to know you in person.

Our Address is:

1227 West Third Street, Jackson and we are located across the street from Ingle's on Highway 16.

What to Expect

Our prayer is God will lead you where He wants you, and if that place is Jackson First Baptist, we welcome you to our community! If you are thinking about visiting our church for the first time, you will find....

► Easy parking in the reserved Guest Parking area located in front of the main building. Come through the main entrance and there will be volunteers to answer your questions and show you around.

► We love kiddos and provide them with a fun safe environment for living and learning. All of our teachers and volunteers must pass background checks and attend quarterly training. You will check your children in at their classroom and their teacher can answer all your questions about the class and picking up your child. We also offer Wee Worship and Children's Church for ages 4 - 4th Grade during the Worship hour.

► Relevant teaching and preaching that offer practical Biblical applications for every day living

Please join us to experience worship and ministry among fellow believers and future friends.

  • We offer age appropriate classes in both our Preschool and Elementary Departments. Our teachers and support volunteers have undergone background checks and receive quarterly training which includes teaching and child safety.

Wee Worship and Children's Church is also provided during the 10:30 Worship Service. Nursery - Kindergarten will stay with their classes during the Worship Service. Children in 1st - 5th Grade will go to Children's Church immediately after Sunday School.

On Wednesday evenings, K.I.D.S. on Mission meet. There are games, activities, memory verses and an emphasis on missions and serving others for all children from the nursery through fifth grade.

  • Our students worship with the adults on Sundays and are encouraged to fully participate in the services with their gifts and talents, including singing, instruments or assisting with the technical aspect of the service.

Wednesday evenings our students gather together to worship Jesus through music and the biblical teaching of relevant messages that apply to students' daily lives.

  • There are a multitude of classes available for adults. No class is age restricted, so we invite you to visit several classes until you find one that best fits your style of learning.

On Wednesday nights, adults attend one of the Discipleship University classes. There are also several Community Groups meeting throughout the county during the week.  In addition to these classes, we also have an active Women's Ministry and Men's Ministry.
