MALAWI, AFRICA
Jackson First Baptist is actively partnering with Hope For the Future by sending mission teams to Malawi multiple times a year. During this partnership, we have seen God's work first hand as 32 churches have been planted in local villages around Zomba. JFBC has been honored to build 3 of those churches: Muherwia, Mpyupyu and Bwanali. When we are not in Malawi, we also support children in two feeding centers, which feed over 200 children each day. Looking forward and pressing onward, we are excited about the dedication of The Tom Gentry Bible Training Center in May of 2018 with a goal of training 100 pastors for 100 nearby villages. In November of 2018 the first class of 16 men began their journey. We are also sending all the children in the village of Mpyupyu to school.
ROMANIA
JFBC is working with Hope For The Future in Sighetu Marmatiei, Romania. Construction teams are working to restore the camp area and mission teams go to help lead summer camps for High School and College students there. Bible clubs are held for young gypsy children living in the area. There are prayers and plans to reopen a Bible Training Center at the camp to help equip young men as they serve there.
KENYA
JFBC ministers alongside AFG Ministries and Kenyan missionaries who are working in the Lomut, Kenya. They are seeking to spread the gospel to the Taposa tribe, one village at a time. The government has asked them to establish a clinic for the village. If you'd like to know more about how you can help with that, contact mmedlin@gmail.com.
HONDURAS
JFBC has also partnered with BMDMI to do medical missions in Honduras as we seek to plant churches throughout the nations. Each year, a dedicated team from our area travels to Honduras to serve and share with those that are physically sick and those that are spiritually sick. In July of 2017 we will plant our second church in six years.
NORTH AMERICAN MISSION BOARD
We are now partnering with NAMB to plant a church in one of 32 Send Cities in the USA. We have recently learned that Chicago could be the city we will have the opportunity to minister in. Please pray for the missionaries there as they prepare for the work GOD has called them to do. Pray also for the community they will serve, that GOD's favor will precede them there and they will find a community that is both receptive to the Gospel and willing to serve alongside their new neighbors.
GEORGIA
JACKSON - Through a partnership with other local churches, we have begun a ministry in an impoverished area of our county. We call this site, Project Turnaround. Volunteers meet with local school children to build relationships through tutoring, Bible study and various other activities. The Hand N Hand food pantry ministry distributes food each month to those in our county which have fallen on hard times and need food for both the body and soul. Loads of Love shares the gospel along with laundry supplies at local laundromats on a regular basis. JFBC actively supports the Butts County Pregnancy Center and their work saving babies and supporting mothers. Each summer a team makes lunches to provide meals for students through the Smart Lunch program. The Transportation Ministry provides rides for those in our area that could not otherwise get to church or other places of ministry. Celebrate Recovery is a weekly ministry helping those with hurts, habits and hang ups find GOD's purpose in their life as they seek healing. We are a presence in our Local Schools through FCA, Teacher appreciation meals and cook-outs, reading programs and open gym opportunities for students. Our community groups also work in the high school concession stand so parents of athletes can enjoy watching their child's games.
MARIETTA - We are currently partnering with The Way of the Cross in Marietta, GA. The Way is an international church plant and we are blessed to be a consulting, a financial and a prayer partner as they reach out to their community with the Gospel.
Whether its locally, nationally, or internationally JFBC is all in when it comes to loving God and making disciples of all people.
SOUTH DAKOTA
Jackson First Baptist is exploring other mission opportunities in our country. We are seeking GOD's direction concerning a mission opportunity in South Dakota. A team will be traveling there this fall in order to learn more about the ministry there and how we as a church can help them.
