Jackson FBC & Me

We joined FBC when we were a young married couple of 7 years and had 2 small children. We prayed that God would put us where He wanted us so we would be able to grow spiritually and where our children would be loved and grow in the fundamentals of the Christian life. Since we joined, we have had the joy of experiencing the love and compassion that helped our family to come to know Jesus better. Wealth or other education could not have given them what they learned here as our church family nurtured them to love God and taught them how to grow into the strong Christian adults they are now. We will forever be grateful to the ones who touched their lives.

What a joy it is to have been a member this long, but it has not always been easy.  There have been many good times but also hard times during these years - but there has never been a time when God's love was not present.  Our church has faced the hardships of financial needs that seemed impossible to overcome but God has always been there providing when we thought there was no way we could get through.  He promises He will provide what we need, not want and He has always shown up BIG!  Not on our time but His.

We developed wonderful friendships hwere by working and worshiping with others who love the Lord as we do.  We have witnessed and been a part of many miracles that have taken place in our church families.  Seeing so many come to know our Lord and Savior and just seeing God at work in lives in miraculous ways is indescribable and we give God the honor and glory for this.  This church family has been with us during hard times in our family and the support and encouragement is unmeasurable.

There are no adequate words to describe how the wonderful people at FBC has affected our lives over the last 51 years.  There were times when we thought about moving our membership, but we were always reminded that we worship God and not man.  Every pastor has taught us something that could help us spiritually and in all situations we knew God was guiding us.

One of the greatest privileges of being a member has been the opportunity to serve in many different areas of ministry - any place God has needed us.  We have served because we love the Lord and wanted to work to help build His kingdom.  Never for our glory but His alone.  Today it is such a joy for us to be able to still come and serve and be a part of a great group of people who sincerely love the Lord and others.  One of the greatest blessings is to be led by a wonderful pastor who preaches the Word and a staff that loves the Lord, our church, and its people.
